Charlie stinks...

Thoughts about last night's episode? I thought it was pretty boring as far as LOST episodes go. However, Libby's comment about the laundry maching being new was so random, it has to become significant. That was what I took out of the episode. That and Liam's girl was hot. Oh and, "You All Everybaby" is the best remix ever.

I think this was the first episode I've seen in both seasons thus far that I actually didn't care for. Yeah, Charlie's an addict. Yeah, we prolly shouldn't trust him. Yeah, it's getting old.

The highlights for me were the little moments:
-AnaL asking Jack if he was "hitting that."
-Libby acting all weird in the hatch with Hurley, making that odd face when Hurley asked if they'd met prior to the crash.
-Eko marking trees for lord knows why, settling into the camp.
-Sayid -- building YET ANOTHER shelter.
-Locke going batshit crazy on Charlie and stowing away the last of the Virgin Marys.

And, of course, the preview for the next episode, which WON'T AIR FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS. HH.

Already told Nish, but here are some plotlines that producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed will be completed by the end of this season (from the official LOST podcast):

-Walt's kidnapping will be resolved.
-We'll get to see what happens when the "execute" button doesn't get pushed every 108 minutes.
-Locke will be at odds with almost everyone for the rest of the season.

Yeah yeah yeah, last night's episode sucked. But a) it wasn't as godawful as the "How Sun met Jin" episode earlier this season, and b) there might be more to this episode than it seems. I actually thought the Charlie stuff was pretty thought-provoking, and he surely has dug himself pretty deep in only one episode, not just with Claire but with everyone, becoming the island's biggest outcast. And I seem to be the only one picking this up, but from what I understand Charlie WASN'T using again -- his hallucinations, they were just more island psychedelia, just like what happened to both Jack and Kate. And the ending of the previous episode, revealing Charlie's Virgin Mary stash -- it didn't imply either way whether or not he's currently using, or just thinking about it. My impression is that he's been clean and his only lie was that he got rid of it all.

Another great moment was Sawyer's most subversive line yet: "You've got a load you need to drop in there, don'tcha?"

Re: the washer/dryer line of Libby's -- lame-o. Came across to me as the viewers being one step ahead of the writers (we knew the washing machines looked newer ever since S2 Ep.1). It's as though they're filling in the viewers who aren't obsessive, like we are.

Chang, don't forget to add to your list, that they've confirmed will find out why, specifically, the plane went down.
