MAP

Where, exactly, is the island? And how do those pesky numbers play into it?

THE MAP

Do those coordinates look familiar?

In other news, I heard from a coworker that Howard Stern had someone on this morning from the insider LOST camp that revealed the island is an old Nazi facility of some sort. Makes sense, given the location, but I have a feeling that even if it is true, there's a lot more to it than just the Nazis. Surely the Nazis didn't show up on the Black Rock...

Thoughts?

Chang, I just read about the Reverse Big Dipper theory. Know if it? Apparently a constellation in the sky seen in the Pilot looks like a backwards Dipper - which could only be seen in that arrangement from across the universe. Or, on a fake sky, Truman Show style. In the Connect Four scene, the little chips form this constellation. Whats more, if you number the Connect Four grid, the chips all fall on the appropriate quadrants -- 4, 8, 15, etc. I'm not sure if the constellation is perfect or not, and this might be reading too much, but what isnt.

Whoa -- cool! I wonder if there's some sort of portal that they passed through before they crashed on the island, how else can you explain why their radio went out? Hmm... good theory Sam. The "alternate universe" theory is certainly a viable idea. Also consider that although Jack remembers Desmond immediately, Desmond does not seem to recognize Jack in any way, or at least so far...

Can't freagin' wait for tonight's episode!! The others baby, THE OTHERS!!

so when Desmond asks "Are you him," you think he's not expecting Jack? Who then?

It could be Jack, most assuredly, that creepy smile he gives Jack when they lock eyes is up for investigation. "Him" could be referring to anybody, really. Some people on the boards think it's Hurley -- after all, he's the only one with a tangible connection to the island prior to the crash, unless you count Locke and his nice... LEGS.

have you seen the TV spots for tonights episode? (by the way, I HATE seeing upcoming TV spots or knowing basically anything about the episode ahead of time) If you have, I'll continue this train of thought...

Oh yeah, I have. I dunno, the revealing stuff is more like a tease, cuz I've never seen a preview that divulged exactly what was going to happen. But they've always led me to a conclusion that usually doesn't match what actually happens in the episode, so with that said, I think the previews are great way to mess with our assumptions.

I don't think Jack is HIM... HIM knows the answer to the riddle... Jack doesn't know the riddle. HIM could very well be no one that we've met yet...

Nazi camp sounds interesting in theory but not sure how any of the clues would fit in with that...

Finally getting a chance to reply to some of this stuff. What I love about that map is that it looks about 1000 miles off course from a direct B-line from Sydney to Los Angeles.
