There's a giant theory that I don't have the understanding or time to get into here, about the six constellations of Apollo. We know about the sun imagery, the Apollo candy bar, etc. And the six Dharma stations. Well apparently there are six constellations in Apollo, each actually labeled M4, M8, M15, M16, etc etc. The heiroglyphic symbols pictured seem to correspond to the Apollo constellations themselves. Conclusion? Each symbol that fixes on the counter represents one of the other five Dharma stations, coordinating them together for some purpose that would have been revealed had Locke not finished typing during the flip-cycle.
Wow, good work guys. That sounds pretty legit. I like the idea of a coordinated hatch occurrence...
Speaking of occurrence, if you google the word "occurrence" (like I did to check my spelling), you'll see that the first entry is An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, the book Locke was carrying in last week's episode!

I know they're heiroglyphs, but what are you implying / what is that 2nd shot from exactly?
Re: 2nd shot; for all I know, it's from somebody's college notebook. I was hoping someone would have some additional insight...

This seems to corroborate something I read elsewhere; the glyphs may translate to "to cause death/to die."
I just changed my display name. I am Gamgee.
