"Orientation" thoughts

Wow. Awesome three-episode opening to the season. *NOTE* I didn't watch the "next week on LOST" preview, so try not to spoil anything for me.

A few thoughts:

- So Desmond could be just a "Skinner's Rat," himself being tested psychologically, or is he really overseeing preventative measures to ensure the world's safety?

- Why didn't we get a look at the "front door" of the hatch?

- Did Locke, during his time prepping for the walkabout, find a phone sex girl with the name of Helen as tribute to the character we saw tonight?

- Is there... well, of course there must be... a connection between the Dharma Initiative, its Korean project leader, and Sun & Jin?

- Are the tribe members (led by "Shaft" dude) refugees from the Dharma Initiative? Or are they others from the tail that Analucia found who'd already gone savage?

- If the latter, could "Shaft" be Rose's husband?

I was about to say, I assume *someone else* watched tonight.

Oh don't you worry, gentlemen, we watched. We're just dreaming about next week's episode (or in my case, dreaming about being chased around Brooklyn by an angry cabbie in dreads) at 1:20am. Comments pending...

After watching this episode, Sam you brought up alot of the good points, but I had one MAJOR thought.

Where was Desmond running too and why didn't Jack ask?

I think he was heading to another bunker.

Lots of people seem to be confused about the bunker sitch... I'm under the impression that there are 6 bunkers all over the world, not 6 on the island.

ooh ooh. just read a great theory that Desmond actually said "Calvin", not "Kelvin", but we couldn't tell through the thick accent. This would make perfect sense with the John Locke > Rousseau > John Calvin philosopher motif..

My girl just pointed out that Jack did ask Desmond where he was going and he said, "As far away from here as possible," or something like that. So I guess my big thing is garbage.

But still, he must've had some kind of hope he would run into something else if he ran away.
