Sun and Jin: whatever.

I figured there would be tons of thoughts about last night's final LOST before November sweeps, but alas - nada. I thought it was by far the worst episode of the season, not only because very very little was added to the mystery, but because it was way too predictable.

The second Sun lost her ring, who didn't know it was in the sand with the bottle? The second Jin was told love was in orange, who wasn't looking for Jin in orange or something?

From what I can tell, here is what was accomplished in this episode: We know that the others either wear pants, or don't.

Agree? Disagree? Discuss.

C'mon now, Germain. We also know that the Others have very dirty feet. That's HUGE!

Yea, I have to agree with you on this one... last week the mystery wasn't furthered all that much (beyond finding the other hatch) but it was forgiveable (at least for me) because Hurley's backstory was so good and it informed the present... but this week, not the case. Felt like a throw-away episode.

The only moment I truly enjoyed was Kate finally [indirectly] voicing the fact that she wants to ride the Sawyer train.

Choo choo!

Mere - you are absolutely right. The Kate reveal was the biggest thing to happen but it was still sorta, eh.

Also this episode proved a very important point. Asians shouldn't be on television.

Kidding of course.

This was, in my opinion, the weakest episode not only in this season, but also season 1. Last week's episode about Hurley, like Mere said, was much more intriguing, less obvious, and tied in with Hurley's paranoia about the Dharma food stock. What did we accomplish this week, other than prove that Jin likes having a friend in Michael and Sun loves Jin? Most of the episode felt like a recap.

The opening was kinda funky and I had a hard time getting into it, but once Mr. Eko and Jin trekked out into the jungle I was hooked. I can't wait to see the Locke vs. Mr. Eko battle, cuz y'all know it's goin' down...

I was thinking, since there's no direct correlation between the "child others" and "the others," it's presumptuous of us to think there's only 1 group of "others" out there. Who's to say the kids Eko and Jin ran into are involved with the boat people or the people Rousseau regularly refers to? With that said, it's possible that the people who messed with the tail section survivors aren't directly related to any other faction on the island. In fact, you can't even rule out the fact that maybe -- just maybe -- they were other survivors of the crash.

"Survivors of the crash." Am I the only one who thinks they aren't survivors anymore? I'm beginning to think the plane was PUT there, rather than being brought down, crashed, or landed on the island.

And how freagin' cool is Mr. Eko?? My fav character of season 2 thus far!

Lost broke my heart last night. Not only was it the worst Lost episode of either season, but then it tells me I have to wait three weeks for the next one.

The only thing worth discussing in my opinion is the teddy bear. Others have claimed they saw Walt with the teddy bear during the backwards-talk scene (i havent checked), and others have also said that Desmond left the hatch with the teddy bear. Anyone remember anything about this?

I don't think either of those are true, re: teddy bear:

Unless it's hidden somewhere.

And get used to the long breaks between new episodes. It sucks, I know!

Maybe next year Lost will follow the 24 model and start in January so there's a new ep every week.

'course then we'd have to go May - January without Lost.

The horror.

I knew there would be hiatuses (hiatii?) but if you're gonna leave us hanging for three weeks, at least give us something big to chew on. This season spoiled us with a great opening run, then totally fizzled out with this episode which not only gave us no answers but no new questions really. The writing is also getting very predictable - I don't know how many more times I want to see a backstory that so conveniently has to do with the character's situation on the island, then they have a moment of realization, then everything's alright again. Not to mention Sun's HH acting when she bumps into Jin and they first meet.

Hopefully in a few days some finds will pop up online that we all missed, and there will actually be a few substantial clues in this episode.
