Tonight's "Extended" Episode...

I dunno bout the rest of y'all, but that doesn't look like a straightup gunshot wound to me... Why's her shirt all torn up like that??

And for those of you who don't watch the previews for the upcoming episode, this week's "tailie" episode is billed as an "extended" episode. Although prior inquiries have led me to believe that the episode is 90 minutes, TV Guide says it's only an extra 5 minutes longer.

TV GUIDE LISTING

5 minutes or 30, longer is better! I'm very curious to see if we like the tailies as much as we like the regular cast, cuz I don't think we're gonna be seein' em at all tonight. Happy LOST day!

P.S. - I've heard rumblings that there's a "second shot" heard at the end of "Abandoned," but I've yet to investigate it. Can anybody validate that?

See? This screenshot goes to show you that its likely that something ELSE happened to Shannon, then, in my opinion, Analucia shot her by accident, trying for whatever or whoever was attacking her. Sayid will throw down on Analucia only to find out she wasn't responsible for Shannon's death, thus screwing Sayid over even further.

I checked my taped episode for a second gunshot sound, but found nothing. I think people might be mistaking the loud sound of Sayid tripping for another shot. I also looked for the "figure" rumored to be in the undergrowths of the ledge they climb up, when Cindy disappears, but can't see a thing.

Here's the doozy though: If you have a tape of the episode, check out the moment that Sayid trips. Look at the ground. Without a doubt, there's something there, possibly something he actually tripped on, looks like metal object, some kind of pipe shape. Another hatch? Watch it and see for yourself...

Oooo... another hatch! Can't tell from the screenshot you posted, but something I'm def gonna check out tonight before the new ep.

And man, I feel for Sayid. Poor Iraqi can't catch a break! He finally gets laid and now he's gonna hafta torture someone again.

Damon Lindelof on Lost's Ana-Lucia

Michelle Rodriguez's Lost character Ana-Lucia Cortez may be the most despised person on television right now, considering what happened in last week's episode, but USA Today says that you're about to see a different side of Cortez.

Tonight's extended installment (ABC, 9/8c, 65 minutes - set your TIVO/DVR accordingly!) is devoted to the post-crash back story of Ana-Lucia and the other "tailies." Next week, she takes center stage when flashbacks reveal her surprising pre-crash occupation.

"It's a very significant and interesting vocation that I don't think people will have seen coming, considering the kind of person she is," executive producer Damon Lindelof teases. "Her flashback takes place two or three years prior to the crash and reveals her first day back on the job after being away for a while."

And throughout the season, Ana-Lucia will be dealing with Shannon's death. "It's our job as writers," Lindelof says, "and Michelle's job as an actor to gain back the audience's sympathy."

Both Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse also talked to TV Guide columnist Ausiello, an interview in which they reveal more spoilers about the show. If you're ready to find out additional story details, you can click here to read it.
