Season 4, Episode 12-A "There's No Place Like Home" Part 2

Tonight, the last Lost of 2008. The season finale. There will surely be plenty to discuss so I'm starting this early. I'll be posting some thoughts promptly at 1105 est or so tonight.

Isn't it ironic that the seasons most straight forward episode would be its last?

Honestly, I feel like tonight's episode answered more questions than it posed. But of course it did pose a ton.

Tonight episode was so amazing. From starring the exact second that season 3 ended to giving us the big answer to the question Who is in the coffin? (Jeremy something. Who is that? Why is he visiting Walt and everyone else? We'll see.) in the first 30 seconds, it was just so fucking good. It also brought in the second season finale (I think that's how Penny found Desmond, not the phone call) where Penny's people spotted the island, the answers were flying.

We know why the Oceanic Six had to lie, we know how they got back, we know they have been back for three years when future Jack has the beard, we know who the second person Sun blames for Jin's death (Jack), we know that Jin is - most likely - dead for sure, we know that some place is recruiting at Comic Con this July (I'll be joining) and more. (that website is www.octagonglobalrecruiting.com and is currently not working)

But the questions. Where did the island go when Ben moved it? What did John do for the past three years with the others? AND HOW THE HELL DID LOCKE GET BACK, DIE, AND TELL THE OCEANIC 6 THEY HAD TO GO BACK? WHAT WAS HAPPENING THAT WAS SO BAD ON THE ISLAND THAT HE DECIDED TO LEAVE? AND WHY DIDN'T THEY ALL FREAK OUT WHEN THEY SAW HIM? OR DID THEY AND WE'LL SEE IT NEXT YEAR? Also, was it really him? "Time Travelling Bunnies" anyone?

More questions. Does Ben go straight to the desert from the island when they move it? Seems he was dressed in the same thing. Why does Sayid and he kill people? We still don't know. What we do know is that they have to go back, including Locke. Does that mean Ben too? I thought he couldn't go back.

MORE QUESTIONS. Charlotte has been on the island before? That's weird. Was Hurley really seeing Mr. Eko? What does Sun want to do with Widmore? I think Sun is bad guy now, personally.

I could go on and on. I guess there were alot of questions. But the narrative was pretty simple. Get the 6 together, get them off the island, get them home, get them wanting to go back. But over the course of three years home, alot can happen and we've only scratched the surface.

And like I said from the BEGINNING OF THIS SEASON. This season is about them getting off, next season is about them getting back and the final season is about them all getting off and making it all right.

Let's discuss shall we?

Yup. Me again. No one else huh?

One major thought as I was sleeping last night: next season the show present will be our present, three years later, with the 6 (plus Ben, plus Desmond, plus Walt?) going back to the island while the FLASHBACKS will be what happened on the island in that time, including Locke coming to see everyone.

Oh and Doc Jensen is up...

Oh maaaaaaaaaan!

Damn, that was good!

First, I'll admit the moment where Desmond realizes he's found Penny's boat had me tearing up. Such a GREAT pay off to that plot!

Any who...

Some food for thought before others chime in...

The REAL Jeremy Bentham, the historical figure, was an advocate for individual rights and freedoms. He believed strongly in the separation of church and state. He was a utilitarian philosopher who was a student of the writings of one John Locke.

But, wait. There's more...

When the REAL Jeremy Bentham died, he asked that his body be preserved by his university. They obliged and catered his other last wish -- that he be present at all future university meetings. That's right, the (now) skeletal remains of Jeremy Bentham are STILL present at every meeting!

Chew on that, LOSTies.

An alternate opening to LOST.
Quite a time saver, I might add.
