Episode 2! Back to a snails pace

Lost is back! Officially! Because after last week's mind blowing premiere, the show slowed waaaay down this week.

It expanded the mystery for sure but at the same time, not much happened. Very weird.

Thoughts?

Personally, I preferred this week's installment over last week's season opener.

It did something that LOST doesn't do too often -- reveal exactly who characters are with very specific explanations. I realize there's the glaring hole of "why?" with our new island inhabitants, but thats why we have a TV show -- to explain the "why" of it all! We've got 4 people of 4 very different walks of life brought to the island to carry out a mission that does NOT involve rescuing the survivors of Oceanic 815 (not to mention 3 of the 4 are very solid, recognizable character actors).

Who are the Oceanic 6?
Perhaps Kate ain't one of 'em. I'm moving closer to that possibility, given her manipulative nature.
Jack and Hurley for sure.

Any thoughts on the other 4?
I don't think we've been given enough yet to really answer this one...

Wait a minute, doesn't Kate HAVE to be one of the Oceanic 6? I was under the impression, you got off the island, you're one of them. G, I thought this episode was fucking awesome. Sure it was a whole new mystery, but I was kind of wondering how they were going to spend 48 more episodes explaining who got off, and that be it. Tying in these new characters with Ben, the "lawyer for Oceanic" working with these new people (what's their name?), all so good.

Here's my thoughts after this episode on the series as a whole.

This season will be about how the Oceanic 6 left the island (something to do with Michael)

Next season will be about how they are going to get BACK to this island.

And the final season will be them back on the island helping everyone else.

At least that's how I see it playing out in a broad scale. And if that's so, this episode was huge in expanding the mythology to people off the island knowing about the island. I don't know, I just felt like it was four mini stories that happened in like 3 hours. It almost felt like real time. I'm not used to that.

I really liked this episode... In fact I felt it packed more of a punch than the opener in terms of suspense and action. Then again, I did have a 104 fever and was a bit delusional.

The people are there for Ben... are they linked to Dharma and know he organized the purge? This explains why Ben was blocking all radio signals to the island. He knew they would be coming for him.

What is the monster?

No luck this time.

I like where this season is heading. I have a feeling a lot of answers are in store.
