Season 4, Episode 4: "Eggtown"

This stellar episode was called "Eggtown" because Locke makes eggs. Oh, and maybe because it oh so slightly alludes to something far more spoilerific that you can read in the comments below.

Yeah Locke makes eggs and instead of calling "Locke's community" that, maybe the writers refer to it as "Eggtown" because he makes eggs and Locke killed a chicken.

Oh, and maybe because Kate thought she her egg was full of Sawyer juice but then decided to steal Aaron from Claire. WHAAAAT? I don't know. That was definitely Aaron in the future, living with Kate, posing as her son. And Jack definitely knew about it (and didn't want to see him). And they both DEFINITELY knew that there were more than 8 survivors on that plane crash and Kate definitely did not save everyone. So did she kidnap him, or did Claire give him up? Or is Claire dead? The one question that this does answer though, is we know who Mommy had to get back to at the end of season 3. Not Sawyer, not a rescuer (sorry Sam) but Aaron, her son.

Wow. Ok. So somehow, at least six people got off the island. Jack, Kate, Sayid, and Hurley for sure. Ben is a possibilty. Aaron is a possiblity. But couldn't they figure out who his mother is and that he would've had to be born on the island? Or does time move slower there and that accounts for his age? We don't know. We do know that those people get off and for some reason or another lie about the lives of over 30 people who were on the island. Are they dead? No, because Sayid and Jack and Hurley are lying to protect them. But why?

Back on the island, in the present, what kind of man is Ben and what is he capable of? Rescue Chang with the grenade mouth knows, apparently, and Ben thinks he can come up with 3.2 million to prove it (a number that, I bet, will fit in nicely to his next flashback). Also, Faraday is trying to be psychic and the chopper is taking waaaay to long to get to the boat.

Yup. Another great episode with plenty of ins and outs to discuss. Mainly the "8 survivors" and Aaron's role. That Aaron thing and his age are going to haunt me.

Go.

G, great round up. I wish I had answers.

My big question, and it has nothing specifically to do with tonight's episode, but something I realized in general. Where are all the other Others? Like Richard Alpert? Am I forgetting where they went? I don't remember ALL of them being killed.

Strange episode, but I loved it.

Nothing to add, but loved this episode, being the Kate/Jack lovebird that I am...

G, what's the paradox with Aaron's age? Don't we just assume this is three years later? I guess that's a long time...

Casabla, I've been wondering the same thing. When do you think ole Richard is gonna ambush Eggtown in return?

The Aaron twist was definitely fucked up. I'm really curious as to whether Kate stole Aaron, or he was passed down to her after Claire's death.

PS - I'm also really looking forward to seeing someone die in a flashfoward. I thought it was about to happen to Sayid last week. It would bring a whole new perspective to the show, knowing someone will die in the future for sure yet the character still gets to be on the remaining seasons.

Did we already know Kate might be pregnant? Maybe it's the nine months off, but I totally forgot this was a possibility.

Guess I had a few things to add after all.

I just don't see Kate as a baby stealer. I think either Claire is dead or couldn't leave the island for whatever reason so she gave Aaron to Kate to take back.

I loved the ep, but I am admittedly getting a little tired of all of the "do this and then I'll tell you the truth!" business, because "the truth" is never really the truth, just more generalities. It's always "I know who you are!" Great, well I don't.

Does Aaron count as one of the Oceanic Six? I hope not.

Sam, here's what I mean about the Aaron paradox, as you put it.

If he's Kate's son, wouldn't they have to know that Kate wasn't pregnant when she came to the island? They have all these other records about her crimes and stuff so its safe to assume there would be a mention if she was pregnant on the flight.

Then, okay, let's say she got pregnant on the island. Claire had Aaron what? Two weeks into the ordeal? A month? I don't know how long specifically we've been on the island but it's not 9-10 months for sure. So if Kate did get pregnant on the island, she would probably still be carrying the child when she was rescued.

I don't know, something just doesn't match up and I think it's going to have something to do with the fact that time moves differently on the island.

All that said, if he's believe to be Kate's flesh and blood, I don't think he can be one of the Oceanic 6.

If Claire dies and Kate takes Aaron, why would Jack want to avoid seeing the baby? Was he changed by the island? I bet he's a superfreak.
